Bombardier's CSeries is a family of narrow-body, single-aisle jetliners offering outstanding lower operating costs than existing competition originally designed for the 110- to 130-seat market. Moreover, CSeries offer enhanced reliability, total life cycle support, unparalleled passenger appeal and operational flexibility. As of August 2005, the CSeries range comprised CSeries 110 and CSeries 130 models with a seating capacity of 110 and 130 passengers respectively. On 31 January 2006, Bombardier announced that was reorienting CSeries project efforts, team and resources to regional jet and turboprop aircraft. This decision put the CSeries project on hold until further change on market opportunities. In the late 2010s the CSeries airplanes were renamed CS100 (formerly CSeries 110) and CS300 (formerly CSeries 130) and the entire project aimed at the 100- to 149-seat market. The final CSeries airplanes will incorporate leading-edge technology, systems integration, advanced materials and latest-generation aerodynamics. The first CSeries aircraft performed its maiden flight on September 16, 2013. The entry into service happened in July 2016. In July 2018 the CSeries aircraft family was re-named as the Airbus A220 aircraft family.
